On April 26, 27, 28, 29th of April 2001, I rode my motorcycle with a group of
friends to the 19th annual Harley Davidson run to Laughlin Nevada. The
ride was a blast, the rock concert that we saw (STYX) was a blast and the whole
experience of meeting Hells Angels and friends of Hells Angels was a blast.
We stayed at Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort, but we moved up and down the
strip going in and out of events, shows, exhibits, and the hotels there.
The weather was perfect for the ride, and just about everything fell into
place! We even had some drama on the Colorado River one afternoon when we
watched a woman on a jet ski saw her fiancé in half (literally) and kill him in
a boating accident. Thanks to my friend Lisa and her cell phone, we had
the emergency team there very quickly, although we later learned that the fiancé
died of massive internal injuries. Other then that, and some missing keys,
the entire weekend was superb and great fun and a huge success! I can't
wait to ride there next year, when it's expected to be an even bigger crowd for
the 20th anniversary!
